Finally, Walton Goggins, someone I’m happy to see in any context, even when it is throwaway crap like Predators, is now in Officer Down alongside David Boreanaz, Stephen Dorff, Dominic Purcell, Stephen Lang, James Woods and AnnaLynne McCord. We reported on the film a couple days ago, but to recap the John Chase script, which seems to blend a slightly metaphysical angle with what might be a thriller of sorts, we’ve got this:
When a doctor and security guard dream at night, their dreams consist of what the other person did during the day. They meet when the security guard murders his wife, is then hit by a car and brought into the doctor’s emergency room. Boreanaz will play a humorless and ambitious rival detective to another cop played by Dorff.
Walton Goggins will be “the prime suspect in the sexual assault of a young woman, a case being investigated by a gruff detective (Dorff).”
According to Deadline.com Walton has joined the indie film ‘Officer Down’
Walton Goggins, coming off the superb second season of FX’s gritty drama Justified, has been set to star opposite Stephen Dorff and David Boreanaz in the Brian A. Miller-directed indie Officer Down. Once again, Goggins plays a dubious figure. Here, he’s the prime suspect in the sexual assault of a young woman, a case being investigated by a gruff detective (Dorff). Goggins will be seen this summer in the Jon Favreau-directed Cowboys & Aliens and also stars in Straw Dogs, the remake of the Sam Peckinpah revenge thriller that Screen Gems releases in September. He’s repped by APA and Darris Hatch.
Walton is set to appear on NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly on Monday, May 9, 2011. Last Call airs at 1:35 am-2:05 am ET/PT for those who plan to tune in. And for those of you who will miss the show, don’t worry! I will post video shortly after it airs so you can check it out then. ![]()

You can read the snippet below of Walton’s interview with Rosebud Magazine:
Q: You’re already wildly popular amongst fans of “The Shield.” Is it true that your character Boyd Crowder on “Justified” was brought back to life by the fans?
A: Pretty much. I had agreed to do one episode and based on the reaction of the test audiences, they didn’t want to see Boyd die. I was doing a movie while the show kept rolling and the executive producers asked me if I would stay on for a bit. We were having such a good time and the relationship between Timothy Olyphant’s character Raylan and my character became so complex and juicy and delicious that once the movie shoot was over, they asked me to come on fulltime.
